Why Parents are Ditching the Granola Bars for this Nutrition Bar Dough

Born in Denver, Colorado, the newly launched Choice Nutrition Bar Dough has gained fans from CrossFit gyms to neighborhood farmers markets, but there are several reasons why it’s an especially sweet choice for parents to give their kids.

1. No Added Sugar or Naughty Additives

Many products marketed toward kids are full of added sugars and sweeteners, dyes, trans-fats, preservatives, and other additives. Not only are these ingredients your kids can’t pronounce, but they’re implicated in causing hyperactivity, behavioral issues, gastrointestinal discomfort, obesity and hormone dysfunction. Processed, sugary granola bars bring kids up and then bring them back down, turning even the cutest angels into cranky, tired, hungry and restless beings.

2. Have fun in the kitchen with your kids

Our Nutrition Bar Dough is a great way to get your kids involved with their food. They will love the sense of empowerment in rolling it into balls, cutting out shapes and choosing fun add-ins. Our favorite add-ins include unsweetened coconut flakes and chopped nuts, but don’t stop there--you can sprinkle in cinnamon, chocolate chips, dried cranberries, the works!

3. Whole (AKA Real) Food Ingredients for Energy

Instead of added sugar, what kids need are snacks that supply protein, fat and fiber, as this mix will give them sustained energy and keep them satisfied until the next meal. Choice contains dates, nuts, gluten-free oat flour, banana, raw cacao nibs, flax and chia seeds, which are great sources of these nutrients.  Won’t you feel better giving your kids snacks that are whole foods instead of science experiments?

4. Allergen-and Event-Friendly

Given the prevalence of food sensitivities, intolerances and allergies, it can seem impossible to find a snack that even half of kids will be able to eat. Luckily, we offer flavors that are free of many of the top allergens: wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, citrus, tomatoes, fish and shellfish. Because all of our flavors are vegan (and several are even paleo), you can feel confident in bringing Choice to family gatherings, after-school activities, birthday parties and other events.

Memories can be sculpted in dough, making this a great opportunity to teach your kids about the importance of taking ownership of their food.

Have a nut allergy? We’re working on a tree nut-free flavor so hopefully those kiddos will get a taste of Choice in the future!

5. Portability

Our container can be resealed and is easily thrown into a purse, gym bag, backpack or suitcase. You won’t have to worry about your kids getting hungry while shopping when you can take healthy snacks with you. Skiing? No problem. Long car ride to see family?  For sure! Don’t have space for the container? Roll into balls or bake shapes and pack in a ziplock bag or smaller container. Just remember to reuse or recycle the container when emptied.

6. Saves Money

$2.00 for a single pre-wrapped bar may not seem like much, but costs quickly add up. A bar a day can promptly lead to $50-$60 per month! Because we don't wrap our product in wasteful wrappers, we're able to deliver the dough at $0.75/ounce. Go ahead and compare that with your single serve bar.

Sounds good, where can we find this stuff?

You'll find Choice Nutrition Bar Dough at Nooch Vegan Market in Denver and Alfalfa's Market in both Boulder and Louisville. And we're expanding into more stores weekly! Or you can simply take advantage of our free shipping until February 10th and order online.

Parents, we salute you for how tough your job is but we hope we can make snack time healthier, easier and more fun!
